[lang_ie]Ghlac na scoláirí páirt i Seaimpíní Digiteacha Scoile, tionscadal de chuid an Roinn Cumarsáide, Gníomhaithe ar son na hAeráide & Chomhshaoil a bhí sé mar aidhm aige daoine óga a spreagadh i dtreo na teicneolaíochta digitigh. Thug na scoláirí – Thomas Vance Flanagan, Pádraig Ó Dubhgain, Aimee Nic Laifeartaigh agus William Ó Ruanaidh – faoi learscáil idirghníomhach, digiteach de Thoraí a fhorbairt. D’eirigh thar barr leo agus thóg siad suíomh gréasáin a bhfuil teacht ar léarscáil idirghníomhach de Thoraí a bhfuil cur síos inti ar chuid de na suíomhanna is spéisiúla agus is tarraingtí atá istigh ar an Oileán. Rinne siad cúrsa i ndearadh gréasáin ar dtús chun na scileanna cuí a fhoghlaim agus ansin thug siad faoin obair dheartha agus fhorbartha. Bhí an t-uafás oibre i gceist ach thug siad fuithi gan clamhsán. Fuair siad an-chabhair ó Aodh Mac Gairbeith (Rann na Feirste) a thaifead na píosaí cainte don shuíomh. Nuair a bhí an léarscáil réidh, thug na scoláirí go dtí an taispeántas, “Excited” í i mBaile Átha Cliath ag tús na Bealtaine  ina raibh tionscadal ó fhiche scoil le feiceáil. Ba mhaith leis na scoláirí tuilleadh forbartha a dhéanamh ar an léarscáil amach anseo agus ba bhreá leo App a fhorbairt.[/lang_ie]

[lang_en-uk]The students participated in School Digital Champions, a project of the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment, the purpose of which was to promote digital technologies among young people. The students – Thomas Vance Flanagan, Pádraig Ó Dubhgain, Aimee Nic Laifeartaigh agus William Ó Ruanaidh undertook the development of an interactive, digital map of Toraigh. They were very successful, building a website containing an interactive map of Toraigh with descriptions of the most interesting sites and and attractions on the island. They first did a course in web design to develop the necessary skills and they then tackled the design and development work. There was an awful lot of work involved but the students went at it without complaint.  They got great help from Aodh Mac Gairbheith (Rann na Feirste) who recorded the descriptions of the various attractions.  When the map was ready, the students took it to the ‘Excited’ exhibition in Dublin at the beginning of May at which projects from twenty other schools were also on display. The students would like to further develop the map and hope to develop an App in the future.[/lang_en-uk]
