Tionscadal Chaomhnú na dTraonach (Cuid 2)|Corncrake Conservation Project (Part 2)|Proyecto de conservación del Cuervo de codorniz

[lang_ie] I Mí na Bealtaine, tháinig  Marie Duffy ó Sheirbhís Páirceanna Náisiúnta agus Fiadhúlra isteach go Toraigh chun oibriú lenár scoláirí mar chuid de Tionscadal Chaomhnú na dTraonach. Cuireadh préataí ag an am chun timpeallacht fhóirstineach don traonach a fhorbairt agus a chaomhnú. Cúig mhí ní ba dheireanaí agus bhí na preataí réidh le tógáil. Chuaigh na scolairí amach trathnóna breá grianmhar i lár Dheireadh Fómhair chun na préataí a bhaint. D’oibrigh siad go crua agus thóg siad roinnt mhaith preátaí cé go bhfuil níos mó fós sa chuibhreann. Anois caithfidh siad iad a úsáid in a gcuid cócaireachta.Buíochas mór le scoláirí de chuid na bunscoile a ghlac páirt freisin agus le Pádraig Ó Duibhir as a chuid cabhrach uilig.[/lang_ie]

[lang_en-uk]Marie Duffy of the National Parks and Wildlife Service came to Tory in the beginning of May to work with our students as part of the Corncrake Conservation Project. Marie and the students planted potatoes to develop and maintain a suitable environment for the bird.  Five months later and the potatoes were ready to be lifted.  The students went out on a grand, sunny October day to pick the spuds; while they worked hard and lifted a lot of potatoes, there are still a lot more left in the field. Now, they have to use the potatoes in their cooking. Thanks to the national school students for taking part and to Pádraig Ó Duibhir for all his help.[/lang_en-uk]
